Cengage Learning, Helleman Books and PCS Publications have signed on to provide educational material to LearningField, extending the offer for teachers and students.
These three new publishers have joined with the four founding publishers Cambridge University Press, Jacaranda (Wiley), Oxford University Press and Pearson, to provide aggregated digital content on LearningField.
The addition of these three publishers improves the texts on offer to teachers and students in core subjects as well as languages and technology.
It is great to have Cengage on board. Cengage Learning is one of Australia’s leading publishers in the education space. The company’s content across the Australian curriculum, NSW syllabuses, and in languages, has been especially sought after by schools. With Cengage LearningField now offers texts from the five largest educational publishers in Australia, improving the range of texts on offer.
David O’Brien the Cengage Learning School’s head pointed out his motivation for joining as follows: “Joining LearningField continues our strategy of offering our teacher and student customers a wide range of purchasing options and delivery platforms. The flexibility and single sign-on approach that LearningField provides is a most elegant solution.”
We are also really pleased to have our first small publishers, Helleman Books from NSW and PCS Publications from Queensland, on board. We are working hard to develop LearningField as a solution for both schools and publishers. These two new signings are concrete proof of LearningField’s utility to small publishers and we hope to make more announcements soon.
Helleman Books’ Babs Helleman said “I truly believe this project is the way forward especially for small self-publishers like me. It gives me the opportunity to present the content of my books directly to schools with the added advantage of freeing me from the costs of printing, advertising and time spent packing boxes of books!”
PCS Publications Managing Director, Shayne Baker, OAM, says “The chapter based nature of LearningField aligns with the way my content is used, either from a curriculum perspective or from the vocational training package application. I like the fact we just provide the files to Copyright Agency and they take care of the rest.”
